Oregon Coast Vacation

It has been a while again since I have posted anything to my blog. Our vacation to Oregon was a blast. Here are some examples of the pictures that I have taken.

This was at
Multnomah Falls in Oregon outside of Portland. It was where Bob first said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Not exactly a proposal, but close to it.

The dogs really like it there too. Callie wanted to be the center of attention and Ranger, well; he just wanted to be laid back. There was a group of people there that wanted to know if our dogs were "Christian" dogs. I said, "They sure are!" I think the reason they asked is because of my shirt that I was wearing that day. It was my Women's Ministry shirt that said JESUS on it.

The flowers in Oregon were just beautiful. We found out that these particular flowers were called the "rhoddy"or rhododendron. Come to find out, these flowers can either be a bush or a tree. Both are beautiful. Come to find out they can grow 4 feet wide and as tall as 6 feet.

My most favorite things to do were go to the Lighthouses. They were beautiful. Our first one was Cape Meres.

This was just a little non-working lighthouse that had a wonderful view from it. The next was Yaquina Bay Lighthouse.

Our dear friends Toby and Marquerite Sanchez took us there as well as Yaquina Head Lighthouse.

They also took us along the beaches in Newport. It was fun. We were able to look for agates on the beach as well as driftwood and other beautiful things.

Where to start? There is just so much to share that I can't even begin to know.

We were also able to go to an aquarium in Newport, OR. There was so much to see that you can't even begin to show it all. There were a lot of woodcarvings, jellyfish, birds, seals, you name it. It was all there.

While we were in Newport, we took the dogs to the beach. Talk about funny. Callie really liked the ocean. She was running all over chasing the waves. Ranger, well he just wanted to lie in the water and didn't care much about it.

We were able to see some tide pools. It was different than the aquarium. Here you could really see what a tide pool was really like. Callie wasn’t sure about that. She thought it was something to play in.

On another day, we went to Sea Lion Rock south of Newport. We went down in an elevator to where the sea lions go when the weather is bad.

After Newport, we went to Coos Bay. On our way down to Coos Bay we stopped at a botanical garden. Talk about a beautiful place.

Here is a panoramic view of the entry way. Boy did I have fun with the camera that Bobby and Rachel got me for Mother’s Day with this. Awesome pictures. This place was unforgettable.

While in Coos Bay, we toured a Myrtle wood factory. Everything was done by hand. It was the most fascinating thing to see. The factory that we went to was operated by a company that helps out children with disabilities. It was great to know that what you were buying would be used for a great cause.

I think one of the neatest places we went to was the last light house. It was called Cape Blanco. I was able to really climb up into the top of the lighthouse and see for miles and miles out into the sea. WOW! The guides there were very informative as we went through the tour.

Imagine being there in the 1800’s. This was your life. You couldn’t go anywhere except by horse and buggy. The nearest settlement was 100 miles away up North by water or 3 days by wagon.

Our final destination was Klamath, California. This was the nicest

ending to a wonderful trip. We went to the “Trees of Mystery” where we walked all over and saw beautiful Redwoods and Cedars. On our entry to the Tress of Mystery, we were welcomed by Paul Bunyan and Blue Ox. Paul even talked with you before you went onto the tour.

Since there was so much to see there, I will only put in just a few of the pictures. I hope that you have enjoyed looking at some of these pictures.
